What is truSculpt™?
TruSculpt™ is a breakthrough radio frequency (RF) technology that delivers deep heating to adipose tissue for non-invasive fat reduction, body sculpting/contouring and the temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite. It is designed to treat multiple areas of the body such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs, buttocks and other stubborn regions where fat lingers.
The truSculpt™ Procedure
One of the main advantages of truSculpt™ is that the procedure is very simple and comfortable, requiring no anesthetic before and no downtime afterward. During your treatment, a hand piece that emits radio frequency energy (RF) is placed over the targeted area. Pulses of energy cause fat cells to heat up and shrink, promoting skin contraction for a slimming and smoothing effect.
Treatment times vary based on the size of the area being treated. The level of heat can be adjusted for each person, ensuring a positive experience free of pain or discomfort.
Most people begin to see results from truSculpt™ in about 4 weeks, with the final results appearing after about 12 weeks.
Am I the right candidate for truSculpt™?
We will determine if this treatment is right for you during your consultation. Typically, ideal patients for this procedure have a BMI of less than 30 and have unwanted fat in different areas of the body.
Who cannot be treated with truSculpt™?
Patients who cannot be treated with truSculpt™ include those who have cardiac pacemakers, internal defibrillators, tumors and metallic implants (including joint replacements) in the target area. Patients who are pregnant may not undergo this procedure.
How is the procedure performed?
The truSculpt™ handpiece is placed on a patient’s skin in the area to be treated. An RF pulse is applied for up to four minutes. Once the pulse is complete, the handpiece is moved to the next area. The total procedure lasts less than an hour.
Does the procedure hurt?
The truSculpt™ system is designed to be a comfortable procedure. As the truSculpt™ handpiece delivers energy, patients will feel a hot sensation at the treatment site. The practitioner can adjust the temperature depending upon your comfort level. Typically no pain medication, topical anesthetics, gels or active cooling will be needed.
Can patients return to normal activities after treatment?
Yes, the procedure is non-invasive and typically patients can return to normal activities immediately. Often, patients return to work after the session.
When will patients start seeing results?
After a truSculpt™ treatment, visible results can be seen as soon as 4 weeks with maximum results taking up to 12 weeks. Results may vary patient-to-patient depending on the areas treated and the number of treatments administered.
Is truSculpt™ safe? Are there side effects?
TruSculpt™ is designed to provide a safe and comfortable procedure. Side effects can include redness, swelling and mild tenderness in the treated areas that usually resolve within a few hours.
